The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Producers of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The newest action-packed instalment that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it has a reputation for embracing violence and madness with similar glee, all while telling captivating, socially charged narratives. No wonder then that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two visionaries whose projects have exemplified all of those qualities.

Show Details

Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game franchise, the short-run anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' format by introducing a different backdrop and cast of characters in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we have no details on what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the producer.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX family constantly supports me with their ongoing trust and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone show. Each game is a interpretation of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a version on a story,” explained Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can shift from year to year, while always exploring the essence of humanity through this multifaceted and chaotic perspective, is a dream come true. I’m excited to partner with Rob and present our shared unconventional, daring sensibility to the screen.”

A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
